Ada Hati Tu, & Maafkan Kami...

Stooping down as low as these bigots, I'd say...

Hey, you.

And you.
Ya ain't look like any typical Malay-look to me.

So, you know, sedar la diri tu sikit ~ if Amenok tu betul untuk orang Melayu aje, you certainly don't belong there, mate.

Tak malu... tak rupa Melayu, tapi mengaku Melayu. Ada hati nak panggil orang lain menumpang pulak tu!

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalik la kampung luuuu.

***

Minta maaf, tapi aku setuju dengan Nat...

"At the end of the day, the best defender of non-Malay rights is a Malay, and the best defender of Malay rights is a non-Malay."

Nat juga tulis "Hidup Melayu!" dengan YB Nik Nazmi.

Aku bangga pernah jumpa (& kenal sedari kejauhan) Nat & YB Nik Nazmi. Tak sejuk ke hati bila tengok 'coalition' bijak pandai sebegini, kan???

***

Aku juga terpanggil untuk publish comments by my Form 3 ex-roomie, Nana, and Abang Tommy.

rkm, nana - bayangkan, you all yang supposed to be assisted tak dapat the assistance.

dulu, in my class, satu kelas 40 orang, 32 malays 8 chinese. 32 malays semua dapat biasiswa, ada anak tokay, ada anak cikgu. yang 8 tu, mimpi pun tak berani, that's a sad fact. yang 8 tu, anak penoreh getah pun ada, bangun 4 pagi tlg noreh, pastu baru dtg sekolah, anak buruh kontrak pun ada, bukan semua non-malays kaya, kan? but we are used to it, so, i guessed we are immune to it, cuma kekadang tu, terkilan lah jugak kan...so, i very the faham nana's feeling. kecewa kan?

*sigh*

Aku sedih baca cerita Nana. Itu baru satu cerita. Aku tahu ada beribu lagi cerita yang sama.

Bila baca cerita Abang Tommy? I am humbled. Dan aku malu. Aku malu sebab kaum aku telah 'memijak' kaum lain. Denying other people's opportunities by closing a lot of doors. Aku malu. Aku malu. Aku malu.

Aku bangga menjadi seorang Melayu, tapi aku nak sembah mohon ampun maaf kepada semua kaum-kaum lain di Malaysia ni -- maafkanlah kami. Maafkanlah kami, ya... *sniff*

Maaf juga kepada kaum pribumi. Kamu semua kaum asal di Malaysia, but not given equal rights whatsoever.

InsyaAllah, God Willing, for the 'next change', we'll strive together to be a better bangsa, ya...

Allahu a'lam.

hehe...komen sikit ya?

The NEP actually was formed for a purpose. we have to understand history to understand it.

The NEP has helped a lot to put malays where we are now. at the time it was formed, we needed that to be at least at par with the others.

I was a product of NEP. kami tak kenal sesiapa. Its not accurate to say kena kenal sesaper untuk dapat biasiswa. there might be cases where yg kenal sesaper dapat biasiswa, but it doesnt mean yg tak kenal tak dapat.

We from the rural areas we given asrama, indoor plumbing, better facilities. we were poor. had it not be for the NEP, I wont be where I am now.

it is not kenal sesaper. if we do well, generally the govt helps.

I agree that the implimentation is probably a bit corrupt. The rich malays shouldnt take advantage of it, and similarly, the poor from other races should be helped.

but in our excitement to critisize the current govt, we should also be fair. facts are facts and we have to admit that.

I agree that the current govt is corrupt to the highest order, but I dont agree that kita pijak bangsa lain. at those time, NEP was necessary. it was a good policy.

tu pendapat kak rose jer cik lin. lets agree to disagree should that be the case. hehe.

take care, jumpa raya nanti.

hi Kak Rose!
First and foremost, i never said that NEP was bad from Day 1. The intentions back then was clear -- to help the poor, menyusun semula masyarakat etc.

but when it's still being implemented even after it's long overdue date, then complacency just reigns like nobody's business.

And it is, FOR A FACT, that NEP is supposed to only due from 1970 up until 1990 ONLY. after that, it's considered BASI BEYOND DOUBT. and it should have been Dasar Ekonomi Wawasan and what nots thereafter.

But you know, even after 1990, the Malays have been holding on to this NEP for dear life, like as if without NEP diorang tak boleh hidup kot? Like, kalau tak da NEP, then kaum Melayu boleh terhapus di bumi Allah, kot?

oh, by the way kakak... kita ni also dari lain generation, tau hehehe. (ya, like, I'm TEN YEARS younger than you for a start? hehehe)

my point is, during your time, memang betul NEP was really successful in what it was intended to do.

but during MY time (and my friend Nana's and Abg Tommy's time), the intentions of NEP dah lari tersimpang jauh. and THAT, is also a fact that rakyat Malaysia must fight to change.

so, see you for Raya and the RM46 for one box of kukis! hehehehe

Hi Faszt & K.Rose,

Ni nak tambah sikit... from what i see NEP mmg berkesan utk generasi akak + luar bandar... dan selalunyer miskin macamana pun kat luar bandar - rumah tu rumah sendiri.. mkn & pakai lebih murah & mudah.. sayur bole tanam sendiri... telur & ayam bela sendiri... ikan murah( kalo tinggal dekat dgn laut)..pendek kata masih bole survive.. ( i penah dok kat my kg house in 2004 RM 10 bole tahan utk seminggu duit dapur).

BUT untuk yg dok kat bandar..lower income .. dok setinggan ..memang perit kalo tak dapat bantuan yg sepatutnye.. i remembered kami sekeluarga penah makan nasi dgn lauk ikan masin /ikan kembung rebus kuah air suam jer..masak tepung ubi buat kanji .. for a few days sbb ayah tak gaji lagi...
kat bandar ni sume nye nak kene pakai $$$.

Masa penilaian darjah 5 tu..I was the 1st Malay girl yg dpt 5A kat skolah tu... tapi abuk pun tak dpt from mana2 pihak yg patutnyer keen on Malay student achievment... tu yg my Cikgu beso beria-ia tlg sbb dia rasa i deserve a better future.

kalo nak cite byk lagi incident2 yg kalo diungkit2 mmg nyakitkan hati... tapi mcm abg tommy kata..we were immune to it already ...and hikmahnya mende2 ni.. we are always on look out for other alternatives to survive & succeed in life..

nana, rkm - i am proud to be associated with forward thinker like you all. you guys are what makes malaysia a success

nep initially memang bagus - no one is denying that and no one should. bak kata rkm, bila dah basi, dah being abused, then, it should be cantas-ed. or setidak2nya, back to basic, tolong orang yg betul2 needy, masih ada lg yg perlu.

ish aku baca cerita kau dengan perasaan yang amat insaf, Na... malu aku, kau ex-roomie aku tapi i was never aware of your jerit-perih... kuatnya, kau...

you should make a blog and jot down about life that has made you stronger, tau...

abg tommy
thank you for the compliment!!! tapi sebenarnya it is ONLY LOGICAL to be thinking what nana & I (and a lot of others like us) think. Also, 'reflection' plays a part, too -- kita dok kutuk negara lain yang discrimate the rakyat, tapi kita sendiri buat... rasa malu dengan dunia. I've to take my hats off for you and rakan-rakan yang masih sabar dengan bumi Malaysia.. *salute*

rkm - whatever other people say, to many of us (Nons), there is no place for us except malaysia. we are truly anak jati malaysia, a fact that though politicians will putar-belitkan, i tell you, we (Nons) are all malaysians to the core.

we will always have our differences, that's for sure but that is what makes malaysians, malaysians.

where got any other country in this world yang in one sentence boleh campur a few languages? yang rojak to the core? and speak like keretapi? yang enjoy malays foods, indian foods, chinese foods as a norm?

we all travel overseas seminggu dua je dah rindu kat malaysia, if that don't make us true blooded malaysians, i don't know what does.
