My 1st Unlimited Haagen-Dasz Scoops Trip

(Clockwise, from the one standing: Nor, Maria, Kumar)

I had a lovely, lovely Unlimited Haagen-Dasz after-work session on Wednesday 30th April at Bangsar Village, which can only be made possible by the persistency of Maria the Haagen-Dasz lover.

Abang dengan begitu sabar dan sporting me'nyupir' aku ke destinasi, walaupun mula-mula tu tersalah tuju -- we went to the Bangsar Shopping Complex instead. Siap dah parkir pun di BSC. Aku memang tak pernah sampai lagi Bangsar Village, sebab tu tak register dalam kepala bila Maria kata 'Haagen Dasz di Bangsar Village'. Aku ingatkan those two places are the same!

Abang pula jenis langsung tak suka ice-cream (I know!! *rolls eyes*). So, at Bangsar Village, he left me with my friends while he scoured the place. Melainkan HD also serves food, kan? Ala aku pun bukan selalu minta dia tolong hantar aku nak hang-out dengan rakan-rakan. Last was mid last year masa aku kuar pi theater di KLPAC... dengan Maria jugak rasanya.

Man I have so so long not let my hair down like that night, so to speak! Mau dah 1.5 tahun tak gelak sekuat-kuat puas-puas.

Bergegar-gaung that 1st level concourse with our ngilai! Last aku 'ngilai'... no, not during the last fullmoon, but masa Malam Alumni Jasin at Flamingo Hotel in January '07.

Since there were only us at the outlet, and, most of the time, on the level too, the place was entirely ours to shake with our mengilai la kan. Lantak pi gegaq macamana pun.

And the Haagen Dasz guys pun very sweet, curt and patient melayan kami since we were the only customers of the evening.

(special update 6 May: Elisa rightly pointed out that 'curt' means 'rude'... so the correct word should be 'courtesy', mkayyy anak-anak? *maluuu* thanks, love!!!)

Alas, at 8+pm aku kena minta diri awal from the rest 'coz kesian ke Abang dinner sorang-sorang kat mamak luar. So, kononnya, aku offer la nak belanja semua sebab jarang-jarang jumpa. Ye la, ingatkan 1 sitting per table costs rm37+.

So, beriya-iya Maria and Nor peluk cium aku, and Kumar thank u thank u aku... atu skali orang kat counter beritau "That will all be rm172+, madam..." while those three fellas kat meja masih pandang aku kat counter sebab tak pasti aku se-pemurah gitu, aku pun terbeliak biji mata to the guy at the register.

"Whaaa...? RM172+? You mean.... Ooo, rm37+ times 4 ka?? Ooo kalau macam tu biaq depa bayaq sendiri, hahahaha," and apa lagi bebudak 3 ekoq tu pun gelak sakan punya la kuat ke aku!

Malu akak aje kan.

Hey Maria jangan lupakan I for next year's Haagen-Dasz outing, k?

I hope next year's HD's list for unlimited scoops would be, well, a wee bit more unlimited!

alamak.... ye lah, curt is "terse" and "rude"!

I lah yang terconfuse! What I was supposed to say is "curtsy"... but "courtesy" seems to fit the waiters better! hehehe

thanks, babe! *maluuu*

for kids ada lower price. oh you'd be well surprised on how much your kids could eat icecream in one sitting!!!

elisataufik said...

oh, then you would mean 'courteous' lah (adjective, 'courtesy' is a .. noun?)
ehehehhe sorry eh, nak ngajar english tapi tak reti.. ker ker ker.
eh tulih 'polite' je lah senang! ha ha ha.

I believe my kids can finish up the whole kedai if given the right circumstances. Musim panas-panas ni, we go through like 2 tubs of ice cream per week. Nasib baik ada brand murah tapi sedap. Haagen-Dasz kalu, kopak lah mak.

Wow, sorry... I don't want to be a spoiled sport, BUT RM37++ does sound a bit expensive.... but yet I could just be cheap... But where has the value of the ringgit gone? Though £ dah turun in comparison to RM- but what you can buy from each currency is a world of difference. My groceries here ave. £40+ a week for a family of 4. Kat M'sia I heard dah melambung tinggi. How do the working class survive? Sedih...

oit oit kak ilush tu la lama sangat dah tu dok sana... RM37 tu convert la into £, sis ~ tak sampai £6, tuuuuu...! £6 for unlimited scoops of Haagen-Dasz??? Mannn....

Thanks to the loss of 5 states to Pakatan Rakyat, harga minyak masih belum naik lagi from the pre-PRU12. It's still RM1.92/liter. That's like, what, 27p/liter? Okkkayyyy what...

No.. no... you misunderstood me. I'm not comparing currency conversion, BUT what I'm saying is what can you buy with £1 in UK in comparison to what you can buy RM1 in M'sia. I am earning £££ and living in UK- I feel I can get more with £1 then what I can get with RM1 when I worked in M'sia earning RM. eg; Mana boleh beli good second hand car in M'sia under RM2k whilst in UK you can get a good 2nd hand car for under £2k- even if you convert to RM pun you cant get a good 2nd hand car with say RM 13k kat M'sia. Understang tak? Inflation kat M'sia is perhaps too high. I do beleive PR will improve things Insya'ALLAH. Other then increasing people punye Gaji- do we have regulated prices on goods that are staple (ie. beras, garam, gula, etc) like the UK? Jangan risau, I ingat kat M'sia macam mana...;0)

Roti Kacang Merah said...

kak ilush
oooo ingatkan dah lupa kat M'sia macam mana, hahahaha

yes the price of our staple goods are regulated, lah... berasn gulan, garam, tepung, baby formula, bawang, even ayam and daging. tapi tak tahu la sampai bila tu since harga staple food globally pun dah naik mendadak...

Tapi haagendasz unlimited RM39 is not that expensive I tell you, since dari dulu lagi a scoop of HaagenDasz has been, what, RM10/scoop??? Of course kalau nak compare dengan tubs of Wall's Ice-cream pastinya that's like exorbitant jugak! (tub Wall's yang warna biru besar tu, RM4.99. Yang tub Wall's yang bulat warna maroon size kecik sikit tapi perisa better than tub kaler biru, is RM10.99)

but, YES, inflation rate in M'sia is getting higher.... RM100 for just makan a week is cukup-cukup je even for just the two of us, Zunar & I. Tak leh bayangkan how some of our staff here can survive with paycheck of RM575/month...

apa cakap daaa "berasn gulan", haha

it's "beras, gula, " lah... sowi typo!
